Can't come to us? Let our virtual field trips bring museum learning to you! Engage your students through storytelling and role-play with our innovative new virtual field trips.

Featuring actors and museum experts, these virtual sessions bring high quality museum learning directly into your classroom! Full of interactive cross-curricular activities and curriculum led resources, our virtual field trips bring our collection to life and immerse children in history.

Presented in bite size chapters, virtual field trips are perfect as a fun activity day to kick start a topic or to dip in and out of over a week. Each virtual field trip comes with the option of an accompanying resource box, allowing children to really get hands on with history!

Series 2 of our virtual field trips have arrived! 

Booking Information

Virtual field trips can be hired for one week. Resource boxes will need to be collected from and returned to The Novium Museum. All virtual field trips include a link to the film that is available for the length of your booking, as well as digital activity sheets for your class.

Toys & Games (Early Years & KS1) 

Enter our real-life dolls house, help Alice and the Mad Hatter work out riddles in the museum and watch a Punch and Judy show in our magical world of toys! Join our Victorian toy maker Ebeneezer as he tries to solve the mysterious case of the missing toys, and play along with some Victorian parlour games. Listen to Nanny's story-time whilst learning about toys and games old and new, and what makes the very best doll! 

Stone Age to Iron Age (KS2) 

Join Archie the Archaeologist, Boxgrove Man and a host of other characters from Prehistoric times as they take you through a journey to discover what life was like in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Discover what life was like before the Roman invasion and find out more from Maeve the Celt about how people lived in the Iron Age. Learn about the Roman invasion of 43AD and how it changed Britain.

Roman Daily Life (KS2)

Understand more about how the Romans lived, what objects they used, what they ate, and delve further into life at Chichester's Roman bath house. Learn more about the language they spoke with a Latin lesson from Katia the Roman.

Roman Army (KS2)

Join our Roman soldier Brutus and learn how and why the Roman army was so successful. Discover more about the armour that they wore and how the army was formed.
